1. Your open-source rights

Zyryn includes third-party open-source software. Those components remain licensed by their respective authors under their own terms. In particular, the Apple release uses dynamically linked builds of mpv and VLCKit/libVLC, while the portable Linux release dynamically links mpv and FFmpeg, under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later (LGPL-2.1-or-later).

Nothing in Zyryn's Terms or End User License Agreement restricts reverse engineering permitted by an applicable open-source license for the purpose of debugging your modification of an LGPL component. The LGPL terms control if they conflict with Zyryn's terms for that component.

The source, patches, and build instructions below let you inspect the exact changes and build a replacement library. Other open-source package notices are also retained in the app's generated license notices.

2. mpv 0.36.0 / media-kit build v0.6.0

Copyright belongs to the mpv, MPlayer, FFmpeg, libass, uchardet, media-kit, and other respective authors and contributors. Zyryn builds mpv with the upstream Meson gpl=false option, preserving its LGPL-2.1-or-later mode. Read mpv's complete copyright and relicensing notice.

Zyryn's narrow patch removes only mpv's Apple fstatfs call used to classify mounted network filesystems for a cache/read-ahead hint. Opening, reading, seeking, decoding, explicit network URLs, and the public MPV client/render API remain enabled.

Portable Linux release 1.1.1 (build 119)

The x64 Linux release uses unmodified mpv 0.36.0 with Meson gpl=false and unmodified FFmpeg 6.0 with --disable-gpl --disable-nonfree. It is built on Ubuntu 22.04 and keeps the LGPL libraries dynamically linked inside the portable runtime. The exact pinned builder records both upstream archive checksums and rejects GPL or nonfree build flags. The runtime also includes a package/version inventory, Debian copyright files, and the common-license texts for copied Ubuntu libraries.

The one-file launcher extracts to the user's cache. An advanced user can replace its dynamically linked LGPL libraries with ABI-compatible modified builds for permitted relinking or debugging.

3. VLCKit 3.6.0 / VLC 3.0.21

VLCKit and VLC are copyright © VideoLAN and their respective authors and contributors, with individual source files retaining their notices. Zyryn preserves VLCKit and libVLC and distributes the relevant library build under LGPL-2.1-or-later terms. See VLC's complete AUTHORS and THANKS files for upstream contributor notices.

The VLC patch likewise changes only a best-effort filesystem classification used for cache and read-ahead selection. MobileVLCKit and TVVLCKit, including playback, seeking, decoding, and their public interfaces, stay enabled.

The framework also incorporates codec and network dependencies from the exact upstream recipe. Those components retain their own copyright notices and licenses; the LGPL text on this page does not replace those terms. Their exact source/dependency recipes are retained through the VLCKit and VLC revisions and pinned builder above.

4. Complete corresponding source

For Zyryn 1.1.1 build 119 on Linux, download the Linux LGPL source-materials bundle (SHA-256 356e5fba503c6b8d0de4f16ae6a74e152b40d25b9fefff94532b543c63bb44c3). It contains the exact pinned builder, portable packager and verifiers, license and copyright texts, upstream source URLs, checksums, configuration, and rebuild instructions for the shipped media runtime.

Download the release-specific Zyryn 1.0.9–1.1.4 Apple LGPL source-materials bundle (SHA-256 8322f036db67618ed981f26ec2f1c35a2f457e819afb9a97a06641ef28e75f5f; checksum file). It contains the exact Zyryn patches, builders, verifiers, license/copyright texts, and per-platform artifact provenance.

The same Apple source-materials bundle also applies through Zyryn 1.1.4 build 132 on iOS, macOS, and tvOS. Those releases use the same pinned mpv, media-kit, VLCKit, and VLC revisions and the same Zyryn source and build patches listed above. Signed artifact bytes are platform- and build-specific.

The official source links, exact immutable revisions, Zyryn patch files, checksums, and builders above are the corresponding-source path for the Apple library builds shipped from Zyryn 1.0.9 through Zyryn 1.1.4 build 132. The Linux materials above apply to Zyryn 1.1.1 build 119. The source revisions, Zyryn patches, builders, and resulting framework provenance were reverified for their labeled releases. Builders retain downloaded source and tool provenance in the local artifact cache. A later Zyryn version may use different revisions; choose the section labeled for the version you received.

If a link is unavailable, or you want a digital copy of the complete corresponding source retained for the binary you received, email support@zyryn.com with “LGPL corresponding source request,” your Zyryn version, platform, and build number. We will provide the retained source electronically. This offer is valid for at least three years after the last distribution of the applicable binary.

LGPL relinking and object-file obligations, including constraints created by Apple platform signing, are reviewed with each release. Contact us if you need the materials for a permitted relinking or debugging exercise; the source offer is not intended to narrow any right the license provides.

5. Full LGPL license text

Read or save the complete unmodified GNU Lesser General Public License version 2.1. “Or later” means you may use version 2.1 or, at your option, a later version published by the Free Software Foundation where the component's notice permits it.
